holy crap those desserts look delicious.
...and I'm wicked jealous that you guys have made it to Popayan, thats the one place I didn't get to go while I was in Ecuador because everyone else was terrified to travel to Colombia and my host parents wouldn't let me go by myself.
oh yeah, if you end up going to Quito, you have to eat at Hamburguesas G-Spot in the Mariscal district (the locals call it Gringolandia) - they are the best burgers in all of Ecuador, I'm convinced
Dude, Colombia was a breeze. Easily on of the best countries we have made it to on this trip. The people were great. Also, one of the most straight forward borders, absolutely no bullshit on entry or exit. Popayán was a pretty little city, not too much going on, just a chill little town.
We are staying in Mariscal right now, totally enjoying a break with international food, like Indian food for one. We have not seen this hamburguesa spot, but we will certainly keep an eye out for it. I think we ate indian like 4 times already.
our tradition was Indian food, cheap ass Pilsener, and karaoke every thursday night...the locals loved my gringo renditions of spanish songs
