Don't be a dick, you jerk!

Today I was walking around Oaxaca and I spotted a crowd down a small market street. I checked it out and found a photographer shooting an advertising job for a luggage company. He was yelling at people, physically grabbing kids and moving them, saying the F word, acting like a real jerk. I reckon he was stressed since the owner of the company was also on location, he is the guy with the video camera, and perhaps he was just doing the best he could with what he had. It was a super busy public street, right in the middle of the main market, and there was a pretty big crowd watching. The public was behaving very well. The photographer would just grab people from the crowd and place them where he wanted them, then bark at them if they moved. Some poor gringo tourist rode into the frame on his bicycle, and the photographer went nuts on him. Remember, this is a public street, and a gathered crowd is a curiosity to all. So, yeah, watching this guy with his big Rolex, large gold pendant necklace, Contax 645 camera, and deep pocketed advertising client made me remember, don't be a dick with a camera while you are a visitor in another country.
